Job Overview
The Operations Flex Supervisor oversees the company’s core warehouse operations and provides the organization with consistent leadership and executional excellence across all shifts. This role blends direct team supervision with a continuous improvement mindset, supporting the Director of Operations with reliable performance across product handling, inventory management, order fulfillment, and production tasks. In a fast-paced, shift-flexible environment, this role is both hands-on and developmental, helping build the operational foundation needed for scalable growth.
This role has a requirement to work on-site in the warehouse. Shifts will start as either 6AM-2PM or 8AM-4PM with flexibility needed to cover other shifts outside of these on occasion.
What You'll Do
- In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, maintain daily schedules and assignments of the Operations team to ensure daily coverage, especially during scheduled and unscheduled PTO.
- Assist in implementing and suggesting systems to ensure proper product rotation, placement and location in coolers, disposition of damaged products, and inventory integrity.
- Enforce good housekeeping principles and practices in all product storage and display areas to ensure all products are properly handled and areas are clean of product debris.
- In the absence of the primary Shift Supervisor, supervise the Receiving team to ensure accurate product receiving from all suppliers, including finished goods from JVI Packing.
- Use pre-established metrics to manage order pickers/selectors in the absence of the primary Shift Supervisor to ensure efficient and high-quality order selection and delivery to customers.
- Ensure production process compliance: creation, maintenance, training, and audits of departmental processes (SWI/SOP).
- Help manage forklift training by ensuring that staff certifications are completed in a timely manner.
- Enforce staff member adherence to trash, garbage, and recycling rules and systems.
- Coordinate the inventory levels of items repacked for everyday sales.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and feedback in the absence of the primary supervisors.
- Ensure all products leaving the Packing Room are in top quality condition and properly identified via QC & label compliance.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are met, including preventative measures and corrective action; partner with Sanitation and Food Safety for all compliance requirements.
- Recommend the design of packing processes, packing lines, and determine needed equipment.
- Suggest packaging requirements for proposed new products and supervise product testing.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of packaging supplies and alert when supply replenishment is needed.
- Participate in studies to determine the cost of goods, including, but not limited to, supplies and labor; maintain data in the appropriate database.
- Execute special projects as assigned within the designated timeline.
- Manage key Operations metrics, as directed by the Operations Director, to include labor costs, productivity, and quality.
- Perform all tasks and duties efficiently and safely.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

- Does not directly manage any team members.
Qualifications & Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required; further education is considered an advantage.
- 5+ years of warehouse experience.
- Produce (fruits and veggies) and production experience preferred but not required.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls, applied pragmatically.
- Ability to work independently with strong mathematical aptitude and proficiency with computer usage.
